Oticon Reveal Levels 1, 2, 3 and 4: Which One Is Worth It?

Oticon Reveal Levels 1, 2, 3 and 4: Which One Is Worth It?

TL;DR: Oticon counts its Reveal levels down, so the Reveal 1 does the most and the Reveal 4 is the entry point. All four share the same Dual AI platform, battery and connectivity. Climbing buys stronger noise suppression, a stronger voice clarifier and finer fitting. Busy weeks justify the climb. Quiet ones rarely do.

The Oticon Reveal levels come with a trap built right into the name: the numbers run backward. Shoppers assume a Reveal 4 beats a Reveal 1 the way an iPhone 16 beats an iPhone 14, pick the bigger number, and walk away with the entry level at the exact moment they meant to buy the top one. Oticon counts down, and once you know that, the rest of the decision gets a lot easier.

The Reveal Numbers Run Backward, So Read Them That Way

Lower number, more hearing aid. The Oticon Reveal hearing aids run from 1 at the top to 4 at the entry point, and every published dial climbs as the number falls. Oticon has numbered its lines this way for years. Scan a spec table left to right and it looks like it’s climbing when it’s actually descending.

Here is the whole family in one pass:

  • Reveal 1: every Reveal feature at full strength, plus the most channels and fitting bands in the family
  • Reveal 2: the same feature set as the Reveal 1, every switch still on, at slightly lower strength
  • Reveal 3: the same Dual AI and Spatial Sound, minus the motion sensors and Clear Dynamics
  • Reveal 4: the full platform with the noise and voice dials turned down

Price follows the same staircase and rises as the number falls, and each product page carries the current figure. If you’re not sure which end of the staircase your hearing belongs on, our free online hearing test takes about 5 to 10 minutes and gives our team something real to work with. It’s a screening, not a clinical diagnosis.

What Every Reveal Level Shares

Stepping down a level never costs you the platform. Every Reveal runs what Oticon calls Dual AI: a Speech AI that lifts the voices around you and a Context AI that keeps the rest of the room intact, so conversation gets clearer without the restaurant turning into a recording booth. For the platform story in full, see our full Oticon Reveal guide.

All four levels also share:

  • Bluetooth LE Audio with Auracast broadcast, plus hands-free calling on iPhone and Android, so the 4 streams exactly what the 1 streams
  • A telecoil, which picks up the direct feed in looped churches, theaters and airport gates at every level
  • Tinnitus SoundSupport, so relief sounds never become an upsell
  • Up to 24 hours per charge with IP68 dust and water resistance and tap control, identical from top to bottom
  • Wind and Handling Stabilizer, which keeps a breezy walk from sounding like a wind tunnel on every level
  • CROS and BiCROS support, so single-sided hearing loss doesn’t force you up the ladder
  • The same four receiver options, standard through ultra power, at every level
  • That shared floor is why the Reveal 4 is not a consolation prize. It’s the same hearing aid with a few dials turned down.

What You’d Notice as You Climb From 4 to 1

The climb changes how hard the Reveal works when sound gets difficult, not what it connects to. Oticon publishes four places where the levels differ, and each one shows up in a different kind of room.

A couple seated at a restaurant table inside a large transparent bubble pod, surrounded by a dimly lit dining hall with waiters and arched windows in the background.

In a Loud Restaurant: Noise Suppression and Voice Clarity

The Reveal 4 suppresses up to 6 dB of noise in difficult environments, the Reveal 3 up to 8, the Reveal 2 up to 10 and the Reveal 1 up to 12. Decibels are logarithmic, which makes the gap between 6 and 12 bigger than the arithmetic suggests. Each step pushes the background further down before voices have to compete with it. In a calm living room, all four sound alike. Put them in a packed restaurant on a Friday night and the gap is the difference between leaning in and sitting back.

The AI Voice Clarifier sets how hard the Speech AI pulls a voice forward:

  • Reveal 4: 40 percent strength, enough for one-on-one conversation in ordinary rooms
  • Reveal 3 and Reveal 2: 60 percent, which is where the middle level quietly matches the one above it
  • Reveal 1: full strength, the most aggressive voice lift Oticon offers on Reveal

When Your Audiogram Is Steep or Lopsided: Channels and Fitting Bands

Fitting bands are the slices a licensed hearing care provider shapes to your audiogram, and the count climbs with every level: 14 on the Reveal 4, 18 on the Reveal 3, 20 on the Reveal 2 and 24 on the Reveal 1. The Reveal 1 also carries 64 fine-tuning channels against 48 on the other three. More slices matter most when your hearing drops sharply at certain pitches or differs between ears. On a gentle, even slope, the extra precision has less to do.

When Your Day Keeps Moving: Programs and Sensors

Environment programs run 1, 3, 5 and 5 from the Reveal 4 up. 4D Sensor Technology appears on the Reveal 2 and Reveal 1 only. It reads your movement and surroundings to anticipate what you need before you reach for the app. On a day that runs from the car to the office to a grandkid’s soccer game, the sensors do the switching while you skip playing DJ.

Music, Live Sound and Group Conversation

Clear Dynamics, built for loud sound like live music, starts at the Reveal 2. Spatial Sound, which keeps the cues that tell you where a voice is coming from, and Better-Ear Priority both start at the Reveal 3. The Reveal 4 skips all three, which matters at a concert and barely registers at the kitchen table.

Oticon Reveal 1 vs 2 vs 3 vs 4 Side by Side

Nothing switches off between the Reveal 2 and the Reveal 1. Every difference at the top of the family is strength and precision, while the features themselves start dropping out below the 2.

Which Reveal Level Fits Your Week

Match the level to your loudest regular room, not to your pride. The verdicts write themselves once you know which dial your week leans on:

  • A week full of hard rooms, from restaurants to family gatherings to group events: the Reveal 2 is the natural landing spot. It keeps every feature in the family, 4D sensors included, and its 10 dB of suppression is a real step past the Reveal 3 on a noisy night.
  • A week so loud the Reveal 2 would still feel like work, or a steep, uneven audiogram that wants every band it can get: that’s the Reveal 1’s case. It adds no new features over the 2, only more strength and more precision. That earns it a place for the hardest listeners rather than the merely busy. You won’t find the Reveal 1 in our online store, so call our team at (844) 914-3331 and they’ll tell you straight whether your week needs it or the Reveal 2 already covers you.
  • A mixed week with some noise: the Reveal 3 is the value pick of the family. It matches the Reveal 2’s 60 percent Voice Clarifier, keeps Spatial Sound and Better-Ear Priority, and gives up 2 dB of suppression plus the motion sensors.
  • Quiet routines, one-on-one conversation, TV and calls: the Reveal 4 covers you without strain, since all four levels share the same platform, battery and connectivity. Spend the difference on a very good dinner, somewhere quiet.
  • What a spec table can’t tell you is which dial your own hearing leans on. Upload your audiogram and our hearing care experts will tell you whether the next step up buys you anything at all.

Getting Your Reveal Programmed and Fitted From Home

Injoy Hearing is an authorized online retailer for Oticon, so every Reveal we sell is genuine and manufacturer-sealed, with a 4-year manufacturer warranty and 3-year loss and damage coverage on most models. A licensed hearing care provider programs your Reveal to your hearing profile before it ships, fits it with you by phone or video, and keeps adjusting it for the life of the device. The hearing aids are identical to what any clinic sells. The professional care is identical. The price is not. That’s the Injoy difference.

Still torn between two levels? Talk to one of our hearing care experts. They’ll ask about your week before they ask about your budget, and every Reveal we ship comes with a 60-day risk-free trial, so the noisy-restaurant test happens in your life, not in a booth.

Oticon Reveal Levels: Questions Buyers Ask Next

Does every Reveal level work with a hearing loop?

Yes. All four Reveal levels include a telecoil, so you can pick up the direct audio feed in looped churches, theaters, courtrooms and airport gates. Oticon kept it on every level, from the Reveal 1 down to the Reveal 4.

Can the Reveal help with tinnitus?

Every Reveal level includes Oticon’s Tinnitus SoundSupport, which plays customizable relief sounds your provider can program alongside your hearing settings. Many people also find that simply hearing more of the world around them makes tinnitus less noticeable through the day.

How does the Reveal charge, and what about travel?

A desktop contact charger handles the nightly charge, and a portable charging case is available for travel. Quick charging covers the mornings you forgot to dock them overnight. Battery life runs up to 24 hours per charge at every level, though streaming and noisy days draw it down faster.

What accessories pair with the Reveal?

Oticon’s ConnectClip remote microphone pairs with every level, along with the EduMic and the TV Adapter 3.0 for direct television streaming. Volume, programs and adjustments live in the free Oticon Companion app on your phone.

Is the Reveal good for severe hearing loss?

Four receiver power options fit the Reveal miniRITE R, from standard up to ultra power, and that range is the same at every level. Whether it fits your specific loss is an audiogram question, so send us your results and our team can help you figure out exactly what’s right for you.

Can I use the Reveal if I only have hearing loss in one ear?

Yes. All four Reveal levels support CROS and BiCROS setups, which route sound from your unaidable side to your better ear through a paired transmitter from our Oticon CROS hearing aids. Our team can walk you through how the pairing works before you order.
